Why start a blog?

Welcome to my personal site!

I decided that I should write down my story. My trainer talks about how our stories are our testimonies. I want to be faithful to record this journey. My goal is to play softball at the highest level. I know it is going to be filled with ups and downs. I want to be able to look back and recall what I was thinking and the things that I had to overcome on this journey. I know it is not going to be easy and if you happen to want to follow along that would be great.

I will talk about situations in the softball world. I don't want to put a teammate or coach out there in a negative way. If I talk about someone else I will avoid using their real name and more talk about it in the context of what they mean to my journey. If I do talk about someone directly I will do my best to get their approval.

This blog is going to be like a journal of sorts. I intend to share highlights and some lowlights in the journey. I am a high school freshman. There is another year and a half before I can officially talk to college coaches and be recruited. I am just going about this process of becoming the best softball player I can be and trying to document the process. If it ends up that I get lots of attention and will be recruited great. But this blog is more than just trying to get attention for recruiting. It is also about memorializing the journey. When we visit a park or tour a new city we take pictures and try to remember the things we saw. If doing that helps college coaches learn a bit about who I am great but I am doing this for myself. I hope to recall and recount God's faithfulness in this journey. If other softball players connect with it and want to follow along that is great too!

Workout Blog

In addition to the personal blog, I will have a workout blog. This is a place where I will post details about my various workouts, practices and or training efforts. I want to have a place to track what I was doing. If it yields good results I would imagine others might want to go back and see what type of work it took to get the success I might have in the future.
